Spelling: I carefully comb through your paper looking for the kinds of errors that spell checkers routinely miss: correctly spelled but inappropriate words. I also correct common homonym substitutions such as their/there, to/too, effect/affect, accept/except, and it/it's.
Punctuation: I find and fix misplaced commas, periods, colons, semicolons, dashes, and parentheses.
Typographic Errors: Typographic errors, such as extra letters and spaces, can undermine your reader's confidence in your writing. I'll make sure that these errors are removed from your final draft.
I will send you two drafts: one will be the clean final draft, the other will have my edits in red type and I will dash out the errors; that way you can also see where the errors were at, and make a final decision on the correction. If I see a paragraph that I feel could be reworked, I will rework it in red type as a suggestion to you, then again, you can make a final decision.
